Google just made a major leap in artificial intelligence with Gemini 2.5, a model that can actually use a web browser like a human. Instead of just pulling answers from databases or APIs, Gemini can now click links, fill out forms, and interact with websites on its own. It’s like giving AI a pair of digital hands, able to do real-world online tasks instead of just talking about them.
This update, called “Gemini 2.5 Computer Use,” was rolled out this week and is already turning heads across the tech world. It opens the door for smarter assistants and automated agents that can help with everything from booking flights to navigating complicated online portals that don’t offer APIs. Developers can already test these features through Google AI Studio and Vertex AI.
Of course, power comes with new challenges , security, trust, and safety are now front and center. But if Google can pull it off responsibly, this could redefine how we interact with the internet. The age of hands-on AI isn’t coming
it’s here.
